Sophie embraces the simplicity and minimalism in her pottery, grandly inspired by her travel to Japan and interest in the Chanoyu ceremony. Using a lot of neutral colours and earthy tones, experimenting with clay, she likes to mix herself, using found clay and recycling throwing scraps. Viewing her practice with ceramics is connected with history, nature, life and a link between time and people.

Each cup is handmade with grey clay, unglazed on the outside and glazed inside with a light ash glaze. Each cup varied slightly in size and shape and glazed.
